Slashdot It!
For a while now I have been planning on starting a podcast, but I know the problem with setting one up from scratch, would be getting the momentum going, and ensuring that episodes are released regularly; so I decided to contribute episodes to hacker public radio instead. My first contribution has been on Linux/FreeBSD based Firewall Distros. The podcast can be downloaded here. In the podcast I cover the following distros in various levels of detail:
- IPCop ,
- Endian Firewall ,
- Monowall, - I got this address wrong in the podcast :(
- PfSense,
- OpenWRT, - A wirewall for embedded routers
- Vyatta
Other firewalls I did not mention include:
Each has its stregnths and weaknesses and selecting one depends on the situation you want to use the firewall in, but I usually use Endian, Vyatta and OpenWRT. Any feedback welcome :)
