A couple of months ago Scalix released "Scalix Active Sync" that allows customers using Scalix mail servers for their enterprise email requirements, to synchronise their mail and contact information with Outlook, or any other mail client that works with Scalix, and their cell phone!

Scalix Active Sync is a licensed implementation of the Microsoft Exchange 2003/2007 ActiveSync "Over-the-Air" (ActiveSync OTA) protocol. Most mobile devices come with software to sync to Microsoft Exchange Servers built into their operating system, so corporates can quickly take advantage of this new capability.. Besides the huge benefit of being able to synchronise your contacts and calendar to your phone, Active Sync also allows for push email. Now you don't have to check for mail, your mail finds you!

If you own a Black Berry don't dispare! Scalix is currently beta testing is "Scalix Connect for Black Berry" and it should be ready for enterprise deployment later this year or early next!
