Slashdot It!
A Drupal Module for Appending Blog Aggregator Tracking Codes to Your Blog.
I have recently signed up to blog aggregators such as Amatomu and Afrigator but couldn't find a Drupal module that suited my needs. Admittedly I didn't look too hard. I thought I could use the opportunity to get more familiar with Drupal's API.
For the first time in a long while I had the weekend to myself so I set about writing my module and the result is the "Blog Aggregator Subscription Module" attached. Basically it allows you to add arbitrary code snippets to the bottom of blog entries.
GPL Release -Version 0.01 alpha
If you wish to use the module please note it is still considered Alpha code. It works but I haven't tested it thoroughly yet. If you find any bugs or have any improvements please contact me.
Future enhancements to the Blog Aggregator Subscription Module
If I get more time I would like to:
- Improve the themeability of the code,
- Currently its an all or nothing affair. I.E. If you have multiple user they can't have their own individual code snippets. Its a global setting that will affect all user blog. In future it might be worthwhile to have each user manage their own snippets.
- I would like to disable rich-text on the textarea box for editing,
- I would like to ensure that Full-HTML input format is the default,
- Also if it is going to be used by some-one other than the system admin some thought needs to be given to security.
