AWS Courses & Your Career

AWS certification has rapidly become the new must-have IT qualification. Its popularity has grown exponentially as the adoption of cloud technologies by enterprises accelerates. The AWS Solutions Architect and AWS Developer certifications are already amongst the top 15 most sought-after IT certs over the last 2 years with average salaries significantly higher than the IT industry average.

If you are a manager or wish to start your Cloud professional career the recommended starting point is AWS Cloud Practitioner training. To develop your cloud technical skills one should consider the more technical AWS certifications. AWS has 3 certification tracks consisting of associate and professional level as well as specialist certifications. The 3 tracks are

There is no prerequisite to do any of the certifications, so they can be done in any order but it is recommended to start with Solutions Architect Associate. If you just want to get the specialist certifications you can skip straight to the certifications of interest.

AWS Developer & AWS SysOps Streams

The AWS Developer Associate and DevOps Professional certification stream is aimed at developers wishing to write and deploy application on AWS infrastructure and use AWS services.

The AWS SysOps stream is aimed at those wishing to develop or validate their DevOps skills when it comes to deploying and maintaining cloud applications on AWS using a DevOps approach.

There are different associate level certifications and exams for the AWS Developer and AWS SysOps stream but they share a common professional level certification being DevOps Engineer. This reflects the merging of the roles between developer and system operator that is the essence of the DevOps movement.
